I've been working in consultancy and systems implementation for almost a decade and I can tell you that gender bias in technology sometimes seems to be a prerequisite for many people to enter the industry. It's not just our age that discredits us. I've often asked myself, "If I were a man, I doubt I would have heard it that way".
What helped me deal with the frustration was finding a support network with other women who work in the same field. I had to adopt a more reserved attitude to save myself from people trying to force an intimacy in order to diminish me as a professional in front of others. I'm a good coworker, but I don't have many friends to avoid embarrassment. That's how I managed to protect myself. I wish you all the best on your journey.
